The Calgary Dragon Boat Society is proud to present the Sinopec Dragon Boat Charity Race, one of the festival’s most meaningful events—where sport, teamwork and community spirit come together to raise funds and awareness for an important local cause.
This year, we are honoured to support Calgary Meals on Wheels as the Charity Race recipient. Calgary Meals on Wheels provides nutritious and affordable meals to Calgarians who may be experiencing health, mobility or financial challenges, helping people remain independent, connected and supported in their own homes.
The Charity Race gives participants from all walks of life—whether experienced paddlers or first-timers—the opportunity to experience the excitement of dragon boat racing while supporting an organization that makes a meaningful difference in our community every day.
Six spirited teams, representing government, business and community leaders, media, festival volunteers and Calgary Meals on Wheels, will compete in a fun and fast-paced 200-metre sprint. Teams will paddle for bragging rights—and for the greater goal of bringing our community together, raising awareness and celebrating the important work of Calgary Meals on Wheels.
