The Calgary Dragon Boat Society is excited to announce that registration is now open for our annual Dragon Boat Summer Youth Camp.
This fun and active six-session camp will introduce youth to the sport of dragon boating while helping them build teamwork, confidence, paddling skills, and race-day readiness. Camp participants will train together and prepare to race in the Youth Division at the Calgary Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Spots are limited to 40 participants, so early registration is recommended.
Camp Details
Ages: Open to children 10 to 14 years old only. No exceptions.
Schedule: Six Saturday sessions starting Saturday, June 20, 2026. There will be no camp on Saturday, June 27, 2026. (June 20, July 4, 11, 18, 25, Aug 1) NO CAMP on June 27.
Time: Camp starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. and runs for two hours.
Location: The camp will run from the docks on the Heritage Park side of the Glenmore Reservoir.
Equipment: All necessary dragon boat equipment will be supplied.

Festival Race Day Participation
The registration fee includes entry into the Youth Division races at the annual Calgary Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Children registered in the camp are expected to participate in the Youth Division races.
Racing usually starts at approximately 9:00 a.m. and continues throughout the day. Parents and guardians are expected to supervise their children on race day.
The festival also includes many family-friendly activities, including a kids’ play area, food trucks, cultural entertainment, and more.
